There are 4 different UNESCO world heritage sites in Nepal. Kathmandu Valley and Lumbini are two main pilgrimage world heritage sites and we will be visiting both of them in a single tour.

Our World heritage sites Nepal tour starts by visiting the heritage sites in Kathmandu Valley. In Kathmandu valley there are plenty of Hindu as well and Buddhist pilgrimage sites. There are also many heritage sites where both Hindus as well as Buddhists worships together. This shows the religious harmony in Nepal.

There are 3 different cities in Kathmandu Valley: Kathmandu, Bhaktapur & Patan. And in these three cities we can find three different mixes of culture and religion. In Kathmandu, Hindus and Buddhists are in similar proportion, In Bhaktapur, there are more Hindus than Buddhists and in Patan there are more Buddhists than Hindus.  

Heritage Destination Nepal tour leads us to the Pashupatinath Temple, one of the most sacred Hindu temples in the world. Only Hindus are allowed to enter into the main temple, others have to watch it from the other bank of the river. On the bank of Bagmati river there is also a cremation ground of the Hindus. We can see the whole death rituals from the other bank of the river. Hindus Visit Pashupatinath temple to worship lord shiva whereas Buddhist visit Pashupatinath to see the Naropa and Tilopa caves associated with Buddhism.

Similarly there are two different Busshit stupas in Kathmandu: Bouddhanath and Swambhunath stupas. Bouddhanath stupa has been attracting lots of Tibetan Buddhists after 8th century AD. Bodhanath is the largest stupa of Nepal, its diameter is three hundred feet, and its height is around 100 feet from ground level. Swwayambhunath stupa is also known as monkey temple and lies on top of the Manjushree hill in Kathmandu. It is also the center of attraction for Busshists.

There are plenty of Hindu and Buddhist temples and stupas in Patan and in Bhaktapur. We will also visit the historical Changu Narayan Temple, a Hindu temple dedicated to lord Vishnu. Changu Narayan temple is the oldest dated historical temple of Nepal. The stone inscriptions found in the premises of this temple give us the idea about the history of Nepal. 

After Kathmandu we will visit Lumbini, the other UNESCO’s cultural World heritage site. Lumbini is the birth place of Gautam Buddha. Lumbini has got cultural, religious and archaeological importance. We will visit the birthplace of Gautam Buddha and other important archaeological sites that are related to the life of Buddha. Lumbini is the major attraction in Nepal for the Buddhist Pilgrims. Since Buddha told to his disciple Ananda, every Buddhist to visit Lumbini the place he was born once in their lifetime. Many Buddhist pilgrims visit this place every year. Apart from the Lumbini garden we will also visit the archaeological sites like, Kudan, Sagarhawa, Tilaurakot, Ramgram, etc. These places are directly or indirectly associated to the life of Buddha.      

Apart from these two pilgrimage sites, Pharping, Sankhu Bajrayogini, etc are other pilgrimage sites that can be visited during our Pilgrimage tour Nepal.
